The Mozarteum was built between 1910 and 1914 according to plans by the Munich architect Richard Berndl. The monumental concert-hall wing, enclosing the auditorium with seating for 807, is accessible through a vestibule with the bronze statue "Mozart as Musagète".
Inside the Mozarteum:
The great hall of the Mozarteum provides seats for around 800 guests, which are spread out on 24 rows in the ground floor (which is rising from row 22 on), 6 rows in the center of the balcony and 4 rows on each side of the balcony.
How to reach the Mozarteum:
It lies in the heart of Salzburg's old-town and can be reached by walking within a few minutes from nearly all points of the old town.
Parking: Travellers by car can use the "Raiffeisen-Garage" in the Schwarzstraße, right opposite of the Mozarteum or the "Mirabell-Garage" on Mirabell Square which lies on the other side of the Mirabell Garden at the backside of the Mozarteum. After 7:00 p.m., there is free parking in the (blue marked) short-term parking area in the city.
Public transport: Following busses stop at Makartplatz (coming from the main station) or in Theatergasse, from where you reach the Schwarzstraße after passing the Salzburger Landestheater, where the main entrance of the Mozarteum is located: Bus No. 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 15, 25, 27.
